A preserved environment…
Thanks to our agricultural method, fauna and flora are preserved at Le Pech d'André and we have the pleasure of watching multiple plant and animal species that find here a sweet shelter…
In the vineyards, from October to April the natural grass allows corep-related plants to develop. Arugula forms a thick snow cover throughout the winter, but many annual vernals also find their place. The complete floristic inventory is underway. You can participate if you wish.
In the scrubland, we find Mediterranean species of fauna and flora, either spectacular or discrete.
In the cellar, you will find a bat maternity who moved there many years ago. They feed on many insects they can find in the vineyards because of our agriculture philosophy. These are lesser horseshoe bats that depart during the winter to stay in caves around the Cesse river.
The creek at the foot of the pine forest and the surroundings of the lake allow amphibians and dragonflies to find a peaceful reproduction site. Every spring, come and watch them during our frog evening!
As for ornithological fauna, the pine forest, wild fruit hedges and scrub are home to many species of Minervois birds.
… which we are pleased to share
Novices, amateurs or professionals, children and adults: come and observe this nature with us… during one of the vineyard and botanical walking tours we organize during the summer.
