Mourvèdre, the grape variety that loves sea wind, with fine, silky tannins and original notes of spice and pepper.
Named "Le Château" until the death of Marc Remaury, this cuvée has since paid tribute to him, he who appreciated it so much and was proud of it, because "making a success" of a mourvèdre is a challenge to be taken up every year. This grape variety is indeed fragile because of its late ripening. Of Spanish origin, it is said that Mourvèdre needs to see the sea to give its most beautiful expression. At Le Pech, we see the Pyrenees in front of us (and not the sea which is not very far...) but the sea wind often shares the sky with the Cers. The oldest plot of Mourvèdre at Le Pech dates back to 1984.
